Internship Programme
CAW seeks applications for its internship programme of three to six month terms (renewable) in the main secretariat office in Bangkok, Thailand.
CAW’s internship programme promotes understanding and cooperation with women workers in the region. It seeks women for internship from various educational, social and professional backgrounds to undertake projects relevant to their interest and experience.
CAW interns will have the opportunity to work with women in the formal and informal sectors, as well as those struggling in the context of political suppression and conflict. Their work will involve research and information exchange and exposures as well as campaign and advocacy. In addition interns shall have direct experiences of networking among other NGOs in the region.
Who can apply?
Highly motivated women with intellectual vigor, perseverance, and a cooperative and creative spirit are most welcome. Women with backgrounds on regional NGO work and grassroots linkages are preferable.
CAW requires academic and practical competence in the fields of labour and women’s human rights, international free trade agreements, civil society movements, Occupational Safety and Health, decent wage standards, media strategies and information management.
Basic qualifications
Interested applicants should have:
- an interest in, and knowledge of labour rights and human rights issues in the Asian region;
- working knowledge of International Labor Organisation and the United Nation’s relevant standards for women workers;
- proficiency with computers, specifically MS office applications;
- excellent oral and written English;
- good drafting and research skills;
- ability to multi-task, solve problems, and work in a team environment are essential;
- experience with organising and planning meetings/conferences

CAW requires complete information on applicants’ contact details. Applicants shall only be contacted when shortlisted.
Successful interns shall be assisted by CAW in visa applications, logistical arrangements in relation to arrival in Bangkok, booking accommodations and introduction to CAW secretariat.
Financial Support
Please note that CAW will not support the travel, accommodation, meals and other expenses of interns’ stay in Thailand. Only expenses incurred in relation to their work in CAW shall be covered. In limited circumstances CAW may be able to provide a stipend.
