Ms Jansila Majeed, the Chief Trustee of Community Trust Fund, one of CAW member groups in Sri Lanka was awarded the Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award 2010. The award was presented by the secretariat of the United States Hillary Clinton and the First Lady Michelle Obana on 10^th March 2010 in Washington DC.

Ms Jansila was awarded for her dedicated grassroots activism and minority community leadership on behalf of women and girls’ empowerment, youth, peace building, relief work, mine-risk education and the resettlement of internally-displaced persons in Sri Lanka. CAW sends her heartiest congratulations to Ms Jansila on her remarkable achievement and is looking forward to support her and her organization in helping vulnerable people to live with dignity in the future.
