Women Workers Leadership Training Programme

“I have been in many training programmes and usually we as participants are like students, sitting there and listen. But this is definitely a different one! It is very participatory and inspiring. I have learned a lot while not being bored at all…” said one participants of the Women Workers Leadership Training Programme held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 28 October to 3 November 2009.
The participants also commented that “the teaching methods and games are so effective. I cannot wait to use these methods in my coming workshops. ”
The training programme on “Women Workers Leadership” organised by CAW was participated by about twenty women worker organisers and activists from CAW member groups and local network in Malaysia. Contents of the training include knowledge based topics such as economics, politics, trade unionism, gender and human rights. It will also include skills training on organising workers, media usage, lobbying, and negotiating strategies, listening and interpersonal skills. Participants from 9 Asian countries also shared on personal experiences, leadership and vision.
